OATSystems Inc. recently announced two additions to the management
team, James Clemens as vice president of sales and Stephen Royal as
chief financial officer.
The two join OATSystems as the market demand for RFID-enabled business
solutions increases, focusing less on RFID technology itself. This
significant shift has created a need for ramped-up sales and financial
infrastructures at the RFID solutions provider. |

“We are
delighted to have Jim and Steve join our executive team and are
confident that they will make significant contributions to OATSystems’
transformation and growth,” said Michael George, president and chief
executive officer, OATSystems. “As the RFID market moves from pilot to
production mode and from RFID technology to RFID solutions, we need to
bolster our sales organization to meet that demand. In addition, we
must have a seasoned CFO, who can build and implement the required
financial infrastructure to support anticipated growth. These
appointments further strengthen the OAT management team as we continue
to focus on developing and delivering RFID-enabled business
solutions.”
Clemens has more than 20 years of sales experience at high-tech
companies. Before joining OATSystems, he was vice president, strategic
applications sales for SAP (formerly Frictionless Commerce, a provider
of supplier relationship management software solutions). Previously,
he had been vice president of direct sales for Macromedia, a provider
of rich media web development software. Clemens also served in senior
sales and service roles at Centerbeam, Radview Software, Livevault and
Silicon Graphics, among others. Clemens earned a bachelor’s degree
with honors in computer science at Dartmouth College.
Royal has more than 25 years’ experience in rapidly growing private,
public and pre-IPO software, service and high-tech companies. Before
joining OATSystems, he served as SVP and CFO of CXO Systems, Inc., a
provider of real-time risk and operational intelligence software.
Steve also served as the CFO and treasurer of Engage, Inc., a leading
provider of enterprise marketing software and interactive media. In
this role, Steve was responsible for leading the company’s $100MM+ IPO
and subsequent $75MM private placement funding, as well as Engage’s
mergers and acquisitions initiative. Royal earned a bachelor’s degree
in accounting at Merrimack College and a master’s degree in
administration from Saint Mary’s College.
