BUSINESS WIRE
November 15, 2004

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. -- CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, this week will hold the fourth in its series of Web-based cybercasts on challenges, opportunities and strategies related to radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.

"Getting Ready for RFID: The User Speaks" will detail the RFID deployment experience at American Power Conversion, a leading provider of global, end-to-end solutions for real-time infrastructure. Richard Morrissey, director, e-business strategy at APC, will discuss his experience in readying the company for RFID.

The presentation is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. CT Thursday, November 18. The cybercast is free for CompTIA members and $45(US) for non-members.

CompTIA, through its Electronics Industry Data Exchange (EIDX) Leadership Group, is engaged in several RFID initiatives for the computer, electronics and information technology industries. One of these initiatives involves a working group tasked with developing supply chain business process models that incorporate RFID and identify potential return-on-investment at points along the supply and distribution chain.
